Description
This sweet Art Nouveau silver plate trinket box was crafted in the early 1900s by the H. Grohs bakery on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The small box has a beautiful woman in profile on the cover. A great little antique box to add to your collection!
The box is in very good to good antique condition with some signs of wear. The silver plate has slightly worn on the front, and the base metal brass is peeking through. This is noticeable but not distracting and adds to the antique appeal of the piece. There are a few tiny spots of wear on the inside so I wouldn’t store food in the box. The interior is marked COMPLIMENTS OF H. GROHS Confectionary and Fancy Cake Bakery 1409 5th AVENUE 2617 EIGHTH AVENUE NEW YORK PAT. APL’D FOR.
The box measures 1-5/8″ tall, 2-7/16″ wide, and weighs 32.04 grams. The blue box is for display only.
I try to portray an accurate representation of the item in the photographs and listing details. Please note the measurements in the description, as images can often make the item appear larger than the actual size.
