Bohemian garnets came from Bohemia’s hills in Czechoslovakia and were very popular with the European upper class from the 1820s to the 1920s. To learn more about Bohemian garnets, read our blog post here:
The necklace is in very good antique condition with minor signs of wear. The garnets show a few tiny nicks on the facet junctions under magnification. They have no significant chips or cracks, and all are secure in the mounting. The gilt has a fine patina layer that can be polished upon request. There are no marks or stamps, and A GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the garnets.
The necklace is 16″ long, and the pendant measures 1-1/2″ tall and 1-1/16″ wide, weighing 5.41 grams. The box is for display only.
