The garnets are in very good condition; none are cracked or chipped, but some have tiny nicks on the facet junctions under magnification. The garnets do not wiggle and are secure in the mounting. The surface of the gold shows fine lines and marks typical of antique jewelry. The shank is stamped 333, a European mark for 8K gold. A GIA Graduate Gemologist examined the stones.
