Description
This stunning Retro Art Deco ring is set with a glowing lab-created round-cut ruby framed by 10K yellow gold. The vibrant lab-created ruby sparkles and glows in the sunlight. A beautiful flower ring from the 1940s to add to your Spring & summer collection!
Ruby is considered one of the “Big 3” gemstones and is part of the corundum gem family. The rich, bluish-red hue that rubies are known for comes from trace amounts of chromium in the crystal lattice. Rubies are associated with the three fire signs of the zodiac and are also said to have healing properties for your entire system. Ancient peoples believed that wearing ruby would ward off all illness and disease. It has also been described as a stone “of nobility,” which will help overcome conflict or controversy and were typically worn by knights. Ruby is the birthstone for July.
The ring is in good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The gold has a few fine lines and marks, nothing noticeable or obvious. The ruby is not chipped or cracked but has a surface-reaching feather on the table facet. You can see this under reflected light, but it does not compromise the integrity of the stone. The shank is stamped 10K and IOF (maker’s mark).
The ring is a size 6.25 and can be sized and weighs 1.59 grams. The synthetic ruby is 4.9 mm x 4.9 mm x 3 mm and weighs 0.52-carats. The box is for display only.
