Description
Crafted in Czechoslovakia in the 1990s, this fabulous garnet ring is set with a large carbuncle, or garnet cabochon, framed by 13 round cut garnets. The halo design creates a floral motif, while the garnets glow and sparkle in the sunlight. A fun vintage garnet and silver ring to add to your collection!
Garnets have been popular in jewelry for thousands of years and were even thought to contain magical powers. The word garnet comes from the Latin word “garanatus,” which means seed-like, a reference to their similarity in appearance to pomegranate seeds. Garnet jewelry is the 2nd wedding anniversary gift.
The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The garnets are not chipped or cracked and are securely set in silver. The shank is stamped 925, and the Czech hallmarks for sterling silver and the town of Brno. The silver has a moderate layer of patina that can be polished upon request.
The ring is a size 10 and can be sized. The box is for display only.
