This fun statement bracelet from Taxco Mexico features five semi-precious gemstone cabochons bezel-set into sterling silver. The colorful aventurine quartz, jasper, dyed blue chalcedony, onyx, and dyed tiger‘s eye pop against the vintage silver. It‘s a fabulous bracelet from the 1980s to add to your collection!
Taxco silver is highly coveted and collectible, with a high quality of craftsmanship in each piece. Taxco is a tiny town between Acapulco and Mexico City with a long mining history. In the late 1920s, a highway finally extended to Taxco, which enabled William Spratling, a gentleman from the US, to find the town and discover the potential in the artisan community. He invited great metal smiths to join him in apprenticing young artists, and the world took notice of the divine craftsmanship in the jewelry produced.

The bracelet is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the silver and gems shows fine lines and marks but nothing noticeable or distracting. The gemstones are secure in the setting and do not wiggle or move. There are no chipped or cracked cabochons, and the silver has a light patina layer that can be polished upon request. The back is stamped 925 (sterling silver) MEXICO TD-39.
The bracelet measures 7" in length and 7/8" wide and weighs 40.77 grams.
