This stunning Victorian bangle is adorned with 73 rose-cut and cabochon Bohemian garnets, surrounded by a halo of seed pearls. The openwork on the front allows more light to pass through and into the garnets, making them glow. The edges gradually taper down to two rows of round, rose-cut garnets that run along the entire length of the bracelet. The hinged design makes it easy to put on and take off, and it secures with a safety chain. A remarkable bracelet from the 1890s!
Bohemian garnets originated from the hills of Bohemia in the Czech Republic and were highly popular among Europe's upper class from the 1820s to the 1920s.

The bangle is in very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. The gilt surface exhibits fine lines, marks, and small areas of wear, primarily on the interior. The wear on the metal isn't noticeable when wearing the piece. There are small spots of glue visible behind the pearls. No marks or stamps are present.
The bangle measures 7" long and 5/8" wide and weighs 11.44 grams.
