These stunning earrings are made from 900 silver with a yellow gold wash and feature 58 rose-cut pyrope garnets from the hills of Czechoslovakia. The open-back setting lets sunlight pass through the stones, causing them to sparkle and glow. The cluster design of the stones, popular during the Georgian and Victorian eras, gives these earrings character and style. They are perfect for any occasion or for a January baby!
Bohemian garnets originated from the hills of Bohemia in Czechoslovakia and were highly sought after by the European upper class from the 1820s to the 1920s. To learn more about Bohemian garnets, read our blog post here.
The earrings are in very good vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear. The metal's surface shows signs of wear, primarily on the backs, which are not visible when wearing the earrings. There are areas of minor patina that can be polished upon request. The posts are stamped 900 (90% silver), G2 (Granat Turnov hallmark), and a hare's head (Czech silver). The screw backs are fully functional and secure to the ear.
The earrings measure 5/8" tall and wide and weigh 5.13 grams. The box is for display only.
