Made in the 1950s, these cluster earrings are set with 42 rose-cut pyrope garnets prong-set in gold wash. These vintage garnet earrings glow and sparkle in the sunlight!

The name garnet comes from the Latin word granatum, meaning "pomegranate." Garnet is known as the stone of fire, associated with Mars and Scorpio. The vibrant red hues of garnet were associated with blood in Medieval times and were believed to cure many circulatory issues and aid the liver in expelling toxins. Garnet's virtues include true friendship, passion, success, self-esteem, and fidelity, making it a popular stone for betrothal in past eras. They boosted confidence, which made them a favorite gemstone among ancient warriors. Some even believe that pyrope garnets are inside the Ark of the Covenant.

The earrings are in excellent vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear. The gold wash has a few minor signs of wear, primarily on the back. The garnets have no chips or cracks and are all securely set in place. There are a few tiny chips on the facet junctions under magnification, but they are not visible to the naked eye. There are no stamps or marks.

The earrings measure 1 1/4" tall and 1/2" wide, weighing 5.50 grams. The box is for display only.
