Encrusted with 21 rose-cut garnets, this stunning ring from the 1960s features an Edwardian style and is set in gold over 900 silver. Made in Czechoslovakia, each garnet is prong-set in a pavé style to maximize sparkle in sunlight. Each garnet radiates as the ring enhances and elongates your fingers. An excellent piece for any season and occasion!
From the 1820s to the 1920s, Bohemian garnets from the hills of Bohemia in Czechoslovakia were highly sought after by the European upper class. To learn more about Bohemian garnets, read our blog post here.
The ring is in very good vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the gold wash shows fine lines and marks, typical of vintage jewelry, with some silver peeking out on the sides and underside. The garnets are secure in their mountings, with no significant chips or cracks. There are tiny nicks along the facet junctions under magnification, but they are not noticeable. The inside of the shank is stamped "900," a rabbit‘s head "3" (Czech-made in the 1960s), and "G" for Granat Turnov.
The ring is a size 6.25 and cannot be sized. The ring measures 15/16" wide and weighs 5.32 grams. The box is for display only.
