This mid-century beauty, crafted by the Dason Jewelry Company in the 1960s, features a lab-created, vivid, purplish-red ruby and a single-cut diamond. The elegant white gold displays a 1.59-carat round-cut lab ruby that draws your eye in and dazzles. It's a fabulous vintage ring for July babies or ring collectors!

Ruby is considered a "Big 3" gemstone and part of the corundum gem family. The rich, bluish-red hue that rubies are known for comes from trace amounts of chromium in the crystal lattice. Rubies are associated with the three fire signs of the zodiac and are also said to have healing properties for your entire system. Ancient peoples believed that wearing a ruby would ward off all illness and disease. It was also described as a stone "of nobility," which would help overcome conflict or controversy, and was typically worn by knights. Ruby is the birthstone for July.

The ring is in excellent vintage condition, with some minor signs of wear. The ruby has minor nicks and chips along the facet junctions, but they are not noticeable. The shank is marked 'DASON' and stamped '10 K'.

The ring is a size 6.25 and can be sized. The lab ruby measures  7 mm x 7 mm x 4.5 mm and weighs 1.59 carats. The single-cut diamonds measure 1.4mm and weigh 0.015 carats. The ring weighs 2.59 grams.
