Glistening with 7 rose-cut garnets, this gorgeous gold-plated cluster ring sparkles on your finger. The two tiers of prong-set garnets catch the light from every angle, drawing your eye to the elegant cluster design. This Bohemian-inspired ring was made in the 1960s and is an excellent gift for a January baby!

The name garnet derives from the Latin word granatum, which means pomegranate. Garnet is the stone of fire, Mars, and Scorpio. The vibrant red hues of garnet associated it with blood in Medieval times and were thought to cure many circulatory ailments and aid the liver in expelling toxins. Garnet‘s virtues are true friendship, passion, success, self-esteem, and fidelity, making it a famous stone for betrothal in past eras. They promoted confidence, which made them a favorite gemstone for ancient warriors. Some even believe pyrope garnets are inside the Ark of the Covenant.

The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The garnets are in excellent condition. None are cracked or chipped, but some have tiny nicks on the facet junctions under magnification. The garnets do not wiggle and are secure in the mounting. The shank is 925 (sterling silver) and has a maker‘s mark. The gold-plated sterling‘s surface shows fine lines and marks typical of vintage jewelry, with a larger wear area inside the band. A GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the garnets.

The ring is a size 7.5 and cannot be sized. The head measures 10 mm tall and wide and weighs 1.86 grams. The box is for display only.
