Made in the 1970s, these cluster earrings feature 20 rose-cut pyrope garnets prong-set in gold-plated metal. These stunning vintage earrings shimmer and sparkle in the sunlight!

The name garnet comes from the Latin word granatum, meaning pomegranate. Garnet is considered the stone of fire, Mars, and Scorpio. Its vibrant red hues were associated with blood in Medieval times and were believed to cure various circulatory issues and help the liver expel toxins. Garnet's virtues include true friendship, passion, success, self-esteem, and fidelity, making it a popular stone for betrothal in past eras. They promote confidence, which is why they were favored by ancient warriors. Some even believe that pyrope garnets are inside the Ark of the Covenant.

The earrings are in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The gold plate has a few tiny signs of wear, mainly on the backs, which you cannot see when wearing the earrings. There are no chips or cracks in the garnets, and they are all securely set into the setting. There are a few tiny chips at the facet junctions under magnification, nothing eye-visible. The butterfly backs are new replacements.

The earrings measure 1-13/16" tall and 1/2" wide and weigh 3.76 grams. The box is for display only.
