This fun ring from the 1980s is set with a round cut Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) in 18 karat heavy gold electroplate. The minimal, swirled design complements the sparkling lab-grown gemstone. A great travel ring or something sparkly to add to your vintage jewelry collection!
Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) was invented in 1975 and is produced by the Czochralski pulling method of synthesis. GGG is used as a diamond simulant and, along with cubic zirconia, ย is prevalent in jewelry.
The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. There are a few light signs of wear on the metal's surface, but nothing noticeable or distracting. The band is stamped 18KT HGE and has an unknown maker's mark.ย
The ring is a size 7.25 and cannot be sized. The stone is 6mm wide, and the ring weighs 3.39 grams. The box is for display only.
