Taxco silver is highly coveted and collectible, boasting exceptional craftsmanship in each piece. Taxco is a small town located between Acapulco and Mexico City, boasting a rich mining history. In the late 1920s, a highway was finally extended to Taxco, which enabled William Spratling, a gentleman from the US, to discover the town and its potential in the artisan community. He invited renowned metalsmiths to join him in apprenticing young artists, and the world took notice of the exquisite craftsmanship in the jewelry they produced.

The earrings are in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. There are fine lines and marks on the surface of the silver, which are not noticeable or distracting. The silver has a light layer of patina, which can be polished upon request. The backs are stamped MEXICO TJ-30 925. This alphanumeric code stands for the 30th artist to register in Taxco with the initial J, and 925 is sterling silver.

The earrings measure 1-1/2" tall and 1-1/4" wide and weigh 18.93 grams. The box is for display only.
