These stunning lab-created ruby earrings are set in yellow gold vermeil. The round-cut lab-created rubies weigh 2.62 carats and feature a rich, bluish-red color—a perfect pair of vintage drop earrings from the 1990s to enhance your collection.

Ruby is considered one of the "Big 3" gemstones and belongs to the corundum mineral family. The deep, bluish-red color that rubies are known for comes from trace amounts of chromium within the crystal structure. Rubies are linked to the three fire signs of the zodiac and are also believed to have healing properties for your whole system. Ancient peoples thought that wearing a ruby could protect against all illnesses and diseases. It has also been called a stone "of nobility," which can help resolve conflict or controversy and was often worn by knights. Ruby is the birthstone for July.

The earrings are in good vintage condition with some signs of wear. The gold vermeil surface is worn on the lever backs. The lab-created rubies are not chipped or cracked, and a GIA Graduate Gemologist tested all gemstones. The backs are stamped 'THAILAND 925'.

The earrings measure 15/16" tall and weigh 2.47 grams. The rubies measure 7 mm x 7 mm x 3.7 mm and weigh 2.62 carats total. The box is for display only.
