Kenneth Jay Lane began his work in 1963 after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design. He studied under Hattie Carnegie and began designing shoes for Christian Dior. He skyrocketed into the costume jewelry industry when designing pieces for Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, and Audrey Hepburn.
The necklace is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The plate‘s surface has a few light areas of wear, mainly on the clasp, but nothing noticeable or obvious. The hook clasp is stamped KENNETH LANE copyright. One of the links has a small dent, but it‘s not noticeable while wearing.
The necklace adjusts from 16" to 18 ", is 1-1/8" wide, and weighs 217 grams.
