The piece is in very good antique condition. Gilt is a fine layer of gold over a base metal, and a GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the garnets. There are a few small chips and nicks under magnification. There is a small garnet lightly saturated in color and another cut very shallowly and very light in hue. At first glance, nothing is there, but there are no missing stones. There are no stamps or marks. The clasp and pinstem are replacements, and the bail flips up.
The piece measures 1-3/4″ tall and 1-1/2″ wide and weighs 9.31 grams. The box is for display only.
