Description
Glistening with 57 rose-cut garnets, this gorgeous Bohemian garnet star brooch was made in the 1920s. The antique brooch has a beautiful celestial motif that was popular then. An excellent piece for all occasions and seasons!
From the 1820s to the 1920s, Bohemian garnets from the hills of Bohemia in Czechoslovakia were very popular with the European upper class.

The brooch is in very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the gilt has fine lines and marks, but nothing is visible. The garnets have a few fine lines, light scratches on the table, and tiny nicks under magnification. The hinge and clasp are fully functional. A GIA Graduate Gemologist examined the stones. The brooch is not stamped or marked, so the metal was tested.
The brooch measures 1-1/8″ long and wide and weighs 5.63 grams. The box is for display only.
