Description
Glistening with 57 rose-cut garnets, this gorgeous Bohemian garnet star brooch was made in the 1920s. The antique brooch has a beautiful celestial motif that was popular during that time. An excellent piece for all occasions and seasons!
Bohemian garnets came from the hills of Bohemia in Czechoslovakia and were very popular from the 1820s to 1920s with the European upper class.
The brooch is in very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the gilt has fine lines and marks but nothing visible. The garnets have a few fine lines, light scratches on the table, and tiny nicks under magnification. The hinge and clasp are fully functional. A GIA Graduate Gemologist examined the stones. The brooch is not stamped or marked, so the metal was tested.
The brooch measures 1-1/8″ long and wide and weighs 5.63 grams. The box is for display only.
I try to portray an accurate representation of the item in the photographs and listing details. Please note the measurements in the description, as images can often make the item appear larger than the actual size.
