Description
Crafted in the Victorian revival of the 1930s, this gorgeous Bohemian garnet pendant and brooch combination is simply stunning. The snowflake motif is encrusted with 70 rose-cut pyrope garnets that catch the sunlight and glow from within. It’s an excellent piece for January babies or garnet lovers!
Bohemian garnets came from Bohemia’s hills in Czechoslovakia and were very popular with the European upper class from the 1820s to the 1920s.

The necklace is in very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The garnets show a few tiny nicks on the facet junctions under magnification. They have no significant chips or cracks, and all are secure in the mounting. The gilt has a fine patina layer that can be polished upon request. There are no marks or stamps, and A GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the garnets. The retractable bail and clasp are fully functional, but the hinge is slightly loose, which makes the pinstem wiggle. This won’t move much when worn. The center tier of garnets is also somewhat loose but is stable and shouldn’t break.
The pin/pendant is 18″ long, and the pendant is 1 1/4″ tall and wide. It weighs 8.25 grams. The box is for display only.
