Spinel has a long history with jewelry, but only some people know it exists. The most famous spinel, the Black Prince’s Ruby, appeared on the British Crown in the 15th century and, until the 1940s, was misidentified as a ruby. Spinel is highly saturated in hue and often found alongside ruby and sapphire deposits, so its identity is commonly misunderstood. Little is written about spinel, but some believe it will help you connect with your inner source of power. Spinel is an alternative birthstone for August.
Lab-created spinels are REAL gemstones as they are chemically, optically, and physically the same as natural spinel. The only difference is that synthetics were created in a controlled lab environment, and natural stones are formed during major geological events. The ring is in very good vintage condition with typical signs of wear on the gold. The surface of the gold and prongs show minor signs of wear. A GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the stones, and the inside of the shank is stamped 10K R. The gold can be polished upon request.
The ring is a size 7.25, cannot be sized, and weighs 2.05 grams. The spinel measures 8mm x 8mm x 5mm and weighs 2.07 carats. The box is for display only.
