Monet had a humble beginning in the 1920s as Monocraft, a custom monographing company started by the Chernow brothers. It wasn’t until the mid-1930s that they ventured into the jewelry industry and hired lead designer Edmond Mario Granville from Cartier to propel Monet into costume jewelry royalty.
The necklace is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The metal’s surface has a few light areas of wear, mostly on the clasp, but nothing noticeable or obvious. The fold-over clasp is stamped MONET. The necklace is very heavy, around 2 lbs.
The necklace is 28″ and 1″ wide.
