Description
This show-stopping ring features 6.51 carats of vibrant oval-cut peridot prong set into 10K yellow gold. The large cluster motif engulfs your finger in sumptuous green peridot. This statement ring was crafted in the 1980s and would make an excellent addition to your vintage collection!
Peridot is the Arabic word “faridat,” which means gem. The Egyptians referred to it as the “gem of light,” throughout history, the stone has always been associated with light. Wearers of peridot believe that the stone will protect them from evil and the terrors of the night. Peridot is rare and only found in a few locations around the world.
The ring is in very good to excellent vintage condition with minute signs of wear. The surface of the gold has fine lines and marks, typical of vintage jewelry. The peridot is not chipped or cracked and has a few tiny nicks under magnification along the facet junctions. The shank is stamped 10K and a worn maker’s mark.
The ring is a size 5.75 and can be sized. The peridots weigh 6.15 carats, and the ring weighs 4.29 grams. The box is for display only.
