Description
Naturalistic and graceful, this lovely vintage amber ring is crafted in sterling silver. The sun-spangled amber is cut into marquise cabochons which glow in the sunlight. A beautiful ring from the 1990s to wear during the Spring and Summertime!
Amber is prehistoric fossilized tree sap that is millions of years old. Not to be confused with immature amber known as copal, which has not been fossilized yet and is only a few thousand years old. Amber is an organic gemstone and is one of the earliest gems set into jewelry during the Stone Age. Amber is an analgesic, so many ancient teething rings were manufactured from amber. Although Baltic amber is the most well-known, the primary source of amber today is the Dominican Republic.
The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The silver has a fine layer of patina that can be polished upon request. The surface shows fine lines and marks, typical of vintage jewelry. The shank is marked 925 for sterling silver and a worn marker’s mark.
The ring is a size 6.5 and can be sized. The head measures 1″ tall and 3/4″ wide and weighs 2.91 grams. The box is for display only.
Please note the measurements in the details section, as the item can appear more significant than the actual size. Shipping is combined on multiple orders.
