Description
Crafted in the late Victorian era, this beautiful hand-carved antique salmon coral bead necklace has graduated beads in a long, single strand. A great piece to wear alone or in a stack!
Coral has been used in jewelry since ancient antiquity because of its unchanging color and glossy luster. Coral jewelry was trendy in the Victorian era and was found in prehistoric European burials.
The necklace is in very good antique condition with no chipped or broken coral. The coral is untreated or dyed, and the necklace is newly restrung on silk cord. The new cord is a little tight and kinked but will relax over time.
The necklace is 44″ long, the beads range from 3mm-6mm, and it weighs 23.21 grams.
