Description
Crafted in the 1940s, this beautiful apple green chrysoprase ring is the epitome of retro southwestern design. The ropework and granulated silver envelope the glowing green gemstone. Such a great, minimalist ring from the end of the Art deco era!
Many famous historical figures have coveted chrysoprase’s beauty. Frederick the Great, who was so enamored with the stone, used it to adorn most of his palace in Potsdam. Alexander the Great was rumored to wear it around his belt at all times.
The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the silver has fine lines and marks, which are typical of vintage jewelry. The gemstone’s surface is very nice; only a few fine scratches under magnification are present. The chrysoprase is firmly set into the silver and does not wiggle. The ring can be polished upon request. The back is stamped HAND MADE STERLING.
The ring is a size 6.5 and can be resized. The ring’s head measures 7/8″ tall and 3/4″ wide and weighs 6.05 grams. The box is for display only.
