Description
Nothing compares to the combination of sapphire and diamond, and this beautiful vintage ring from the 1990s has just that. The dark blue oval-cut sapphires pop against the glistening single-cut diamonds and 10K white gold. A lovely bypass ring to add to your vintage collection or engagement!
Sapphire is one of the “big three” gemstones – ruby, sapphire, and emerald – coveted throughout the ages. Sapphire is commonly associated with royalty and romance, and its name derives from the Greek word “saphheiros,” which most likely referred to lapis lazuli. Ancient royals were convinced that sapphire guarded the wearer against envy and harm, while clergy members wore them to symbolize heaven.
The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the gold has fine lines and marks, nothing noticeable or obvious. The sapphires and diamonds are not damaged, chipped, or cracked and are secure in the setting. The band is stamped 10KT and a worn maker’s mark. A GIA Graduate Gemologist tested the natural gemstones.
The ring is a size 4.75, can be sized, and weighs 2.98 grams. The sapphires weigh 0.87-carats, and the diamonds weigh 0.10-carats. The box is for display only.
