Beautifully crafted in the 1950s by the Uncas Jewelry Company, this vintage black onyx necklace features a single-cut diamond set into white gold-filled metal. The Jazz era influenced necklace is excellent for all ages!
Uncas was founded in 1911 by Vincent Sorrentino in Providence, Rhode Island, and is still manufacturing jewelry today. They were able to stay in business for so long by staying up to date with trends and manufacturing jewelry for Universal Studios and Disney.
The necklace is in very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The onyx is not chipped or cracked and is secure in the setting. There are a few fine lines and light areas of wear on the onyx. There is slight damage to the filigree in the top right corner, as shown in the photographs. The silver plate is unchipped and undamaged, and the spring ring clasp is fully functional. The piece is not marked or stamped.
The necklace is 18" long, and the pendant measures 7/8" tall and 1/2" wide and weighs 2.39 grams. The box is for display only.
