This is a vintage 1990s sterling silver grape statement ring straight from Taxco, Mexico. A split shank of shiny sterling silver frames the large bunch of grapes. It's a great piece for Fall or wine lovers!

Taxco silver is highly coveted and collectible, with a high quality of craftsmanship in each piece. Taxco is a tiny town between Acapulco and Mexico City with a long mining history. In the late 1920s, a highway was finally extended to Taxco, which enabled William Spratling, a gentleman from the US, to find the town and discover the potential in the artisan community. He invited great metal smiths to join him in apprenticing young artists, and the world took notice of the divine craftsmanship in the jewelry produced.

The ring is in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The surface of the silver shows fine lines and marks, typical of vintage jewelry, and nothing noticeable or distracting. The inside is stamped TR-84 MEXICO 925. This means the piece was manufactured in Taxco, is made of sterling silver, and the artist had the initial R.

The ring is size 4.25 and can be sized. It is 1-1/4" wide and weighs 9.39 grams. The box is for display only.
